Show solidarity for persecuted Christians at the Red Wednesday Mass on November 19, 2025

We encourage members of the Thomas More Lawyers’ Guild of Toronto to attend the Red Wednesday Mass, wearing red, to stand in solidarity with Christians from around the world who are persecuted for practising their faith.

The Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 19 at 5:30 p.m. at St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica. The basilica will be illuminated in red, as will be hundreds of other churches around the world.

Red Week and Red Wednesday are an initiative of Aid to the Church in Need, a pontifical charity. The campaign aims “to shine a light—literally—on the plight of persecuted Christians, raise awareness of religious persecution and advocate for religious freedom.”

If you can’t attend the Mass, consider wearing red on Wednesday as a sign of your solidarity and support, and encouraging others to do the same.

See Aid for the Church in Need’s website to learn about the various Red Week and Red Wednesday events taking place around the world, as well as the various projects the charity supports to further its mission to “support the faithful wherever they are persecuted, oppressed or in need, through information, prayer and action”.

We hope to see many of you in red at the Red Wednesday Mass.
