On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Thomas More Lawyers’ Guild of Toronto, we warmly invite you to join us for a celebration of our Patron’s Feast Day.

St. Thomas More, the Patron Saint of Statesmen, Politicians, Judges, and Lawyers, is honored each year with a special dinner organized by the Guild. The Feast of St. Thomas More, celebrated by the Holy Church alongside St. John Fisher on June 22nd, will be celebrated this year on Thursday, June 27th, 2024, at the National Club. We encourage you to purchase your tickets soon, as space is limited.

Please join us for the evening Mass at St. Stephen’s Chapel, 360 Bay St. #200, Toronto, ON M5H 2V6, 5:10 p.m. This will be immediately preceding the Guild’s Dinner celebration. Your attendance is encouraged.

Thomas More Feast Day Dinner

Guest Speaker:  Sr. Pia Jude of the New York branch of the Sisters of Life

Intro of Sisters of Life

The Sisters of Life were founded in New York in 1991 by then Archbishop John Cardinal O’Connor. He responded to the prompting of the Holy Spirit to raise a community of women religious to meet the needs of the times – to lay down their lives so others may live. The Sisters take the traditional vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, and a fourth vow to protect and enhance the sacredness of human life. They spend half their day in prayer, and all of their missions flow from their prayer. In 2007, the Sisters opened a convent in Toronto, and serve hundreds of women who are pregnant and in crisis, and journey with women in finding hope, healing, and freedom after abortion, inviting them to receive the Lord’s infinite love and mercy.

Sr. Pia Jude Born and raised in NJ, Sister Pia Jude joined the Sisters of Life in 2013 after working in the legal field in Manhattan. Sister has served in various missions of outreach within the Sisters of Life, including sharing the liberating message of the Gospel of Life to university students in Denver, Colorado, and in the Sisters’ missions to the Co-Workers of Life and the Respect Life Office for the Archdiocese of New York. Most recently, Sister serves the community-at-large by assisting the Superior General with legal needs. Sr. Pia Jude is delighted to be here, as she loves great Saint biographies, and sees each person here as one in the making.
