Overview

Michael is a member of TGF’s Commercial Litigation group. He has experience representing private and public sector clients across a broad range of industries in breach of contract claims, shareholder disputes, insolvency proceedings and real property litigation. Michael has appeared in Commercial List matters before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Nova Scotia Supreme Court, the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal and the Nova Scotia Bankruptcy Court. Michael is known as a persuasive advocate, with a record for being resourceful in his work. He enjoys developing long-lasting client relationships, and is commended for his patient attitude and ability to adjust his litigation approach to a variety of complex legal situations. Michael is enthusiastic about professional development and community leadership. While in law school, Michael participated in various mooting competitions, including the 13th Commercial Mediation Competition at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, France and the Dentons Negotiation Competition in Ottawa. Michael is an active member of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, and serves as a mentor to law students and junior lawyers in the Greater Toronto Area. Prior to joining TGF, Michael worked at a large national law firm in Toronto where his practice focused primarily on securities litigation and arbitration.
